Class Description
Science
9 is a general science class required for all freshmen. Students study the areas of physics and
chemistry. The students will do

given at appropriate times, during a lecture is NOT an appropriate time unless
it is an emergency.

given if you need additional material such as other books, not when you forget
your science book, pencil, etc.

beginning of the hour. If you need
to sharpen your pencil during class, use the hand held sharpener.
- Only throw garbage away at
appropriate times. Gently place
garbage in wastebasket. DO NOT toss
in the garbage, this is science class not basketball practice.
Absences:
- It is your responsibility to find out all work missed and to ask
for any missed handouts/assignments.
- If you are absent on the day
an assignment is collected, it is due on the day you return. Put
assignment in basket, write date due and 'absent' on it.
- If you are absent on the day
an assignment is given, the assignment is
due one day after you return.
(If you were gone on Monday, return on Tuesday, then the assignment is
due on Wednesday.) Put in basket,
write date due and absent on it.
- If you are absent for an
extended time, (2,3,4 days etc.) please see me and we
can discuss a due date for your work.

test.

take the quiz on the day you return.

lab. See me to schedule a time.
- Remember you will receive extra
credit if you have 3 to 0 excused absences, after 6 excused absences, points
will be deducted from your grade.
Homework/Late
work:
- Homework will be graded on
completeness and/or correctness
- All students are expected to
complete homework by the due date.
- All homework assignments
must include your name, date, hour, and name of the assignment. If any information is missing, the assignment
will be considered late and graded for half the points.
- If the homework assignment
is not handed in when asked for, it is considered late. You have until the test to make up all work for that
chapter for half credit. After the
test, late work will not be accepted. Reviews will not be accepted late.
- To turn in a late
assignment, write 'late' on assignment and place in the white bin.
- It is your responsibility to
