Summer childcare 2019

Summer Childcare Calendar of Events

If your child will turn five years of age on or before September 1, 2019 (or before December 1st with a signed waiver), he/she is eligible for Begindergarten/Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year!

If you missed our Kindergarten registration night in March, please contact the Weston office at 810-724-9812 as soon as possible to get your child registered.

Paperwork needed to register your child includes: original birth certificate, picture ID with current address, immunization record to date, and information regarding any medical conditions and/or food allergies. If your picture ID does not have your current address, you will also need proof of residency (utility bill, rent/lease agreement, etc. )

It is time to start thinking about Preschool for the 2019-2020 school year. If your child will be three or four years of age next school year, please mark your calendar to ensure you can attend this very important upcoming preschool registration event.

Preschool Registration: Thursday, April 11, 2019

9:30am – 11:00am and 3:00pm – 6:30pm

Representatives from several programs will be available to answer your questions and begin the enrollment process for fall preschool. Please bring your child’s original birth certificate, immunization record, proof of residency and your 2018 tax return (for eligibility requirements). At the event, you will learn more about the following options:

Head Start: This is a free preschool program for three and four year old students who meet certain eligibility requirements

Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP): This is a free preschool program for four year old students who meet eligibility requirements; meets four full days per week

Imlay City Schools Preschool: Full Day and Half Day programs available! This is a tuition-based program for three year olds and four year olds; meets four half-days/full-days per week. Limited spots available!

Extended Day Childcare: This is a full day childcare program offered at Weston Elementary for students 2 years, 6 months and up. Students are able to attend preschool and then attend childcare for the other half of their day. Or, if you have a child that will not be in preschool but is 2 years, 6 months, they can attend childcare for a full day. Children must be potty trained.

Our childcare and preschool programs are structured and staffed by highly qualified caregivers. Our goal is to provide a healthy, positive, and child-centered environment where your child’s social, emotional, intellectual, and physical needs are being met.
