It is time to start thinking about Kindergarten for the 2019-2020 school year. If you have a child that will turn 5 years of age on or before September 1, 2019 (or before December 1, 2019 with a signed waiver), please mark your calendar to ensure you can attend both of these very important upcoming Kindergarten events.

Parent Information Night: Thursday, March 14, 2019 from 6:00-7:00 PM. At this information night, parents will learn more about our Kindergarten program and get to meet our Kindergarten staff members. Also, they will receive all registration materials. This evening is for parents only.

• Kindergarten Registration Night: Tuesday, March 19, 2019 from 5:00-7:30 PM. This event is for parents and their kindergarten children. Parents will bring completed registration materials and children will be screened by our wonderful Weston staff while our helpful office staff will review completed registration forms and copy required documents.

Please call the Weston office if you have any questions about these events. We hope to see you there and please spread the word to any families you know that have kindergarten aged children.

Paperwork needed to register your child includes: original birth certificate, picture ID with current address, immunization record to date, and information regarding any medical conditions and/or food allergies. If your picture ID does not have your current address, you will also need proof of residency (utility bill, rent/lease agreement, etc. )

Weston Offers Begindergarten!!

We are excited to announce that we will continue to offer Begindergarten to our families, at no cost.

Begindergarten offers students, who are age appropriate for Kindergarten, an extra year to grow physically, emotionally, academically, and socially. It is a stepping stone between preschool and Kindergarten. There is no state mandated curriculum, leaving us with the luxury of developing a curriculum to meet the needs of each learner.

They then leave Begindergarten and enter Kindergarten with an understanding of what school is and how it works, as well as what their individual role is as part of the school community.

Begindergarten is not intended to replace Kindergarten.  Rather, think of it as the prequel to Kindergarten; a good beginning. It's an extra year for students to develop at their own pace while still having the experience of real school and learning how to do school.

Begindergarten is a full-day program which runs 5 days a week, just like Kindergarten. They follow the regular Kindergarten schedule and operate on the district calendar.  All students participate in district offered specials: music, art, computers, library, and gym.  Please come to our Kindergarten information night for additional information on this exciting program!
